The big topics in 2015 will be my Ruby on Rails based CMS Chimoora and Android development in general.
I will leave MEDION, where I currently work as a Senior Software Engineer in their Android-Team, by the end of March
so I will then have more time for my own projects.
From April on I will work on Chimoora and I will continue to deepen my knowledge about Android and iOS.
Furthermore I will attend a few, mostly Android related, events. Follow me on
for the latest updates.

My website has recently been relaunched. Now it uses Chimoora, a Ruby on Rails based Content Management System (CMS). I was just setting up a new RSS Reader when I realized that Chimoora still had no RSS Feed for the blog articles.
Here is how I implemented the RSS Feed for Chimoora in 3 steps.
codingfish.com now has a photo section.
As you may know I travel quite a lot and wherever I am, I take a lot of photos.
Of course I do have accounts on platforms like 500px but that's not the same as an own photo gallery on my own website :-)
During the last weeks I worked on the Chimoora CMS to integrate "Photos" and now it's done. I will start with a few galleries and a handful of photos.
Of course, much more photos will be uploaded in the future. I will let you know ;-)
The Google I/O 2014 took place on June 25/26 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco and I was there.
It was my first IO and I would like to give a big "thank you" to my employer MEDION for the opportunity to attend this awesome event :-)
Most (if not all) of the sessions are on YouTube in the meantime so in this post I will only write my personal thoughts on the Google I/O 2014.
My website codingfish.com has been relaunched! The website now runs on Chimoora, a Ruby on Rails based Content Management System (CMS). On my new website I will post articles around software development, mobile devices and all other geek stuff that I love. Also, be prepared to see some photos. I'm a hobby photographer ;-)
To relaunch a website always means a lot of work! For this new website I even wrote a complete CMS from scratch. Chimoora is based on Ruby 2, Rails 4 and Bootstrap 3. codingfish.com runs on Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr). The Rails application server is Phusion Passenger Enterprise 4.
codingfish.com has been powered by the CMS
for a couple of years. Now, the time has come to replace it with a brandnew CMS.
In recent months I wrote an own CMS from scratch and now it's ready for prime time!
codingfish.com will soon be relaunched. The website will then be powered by
Chimoora, a Ruby on Rails based Content Management System.

On February 1st, 2014 I will join the Android team at Medion in Essen, Germany as a "Senior Software Engineer". In this new regular job I will help to create great Android devices with our team in Essen and our partners in China.
This fulltime job will of course affect all my other projects. In short I would say:
Much less (almost zero) Joomla!, a bit more Ruby on Rails and much more Android.
