On February 1st, 2014 I will join the Android team at Medion in Essen, Germany as a "Senior Software Engineer". In this new regular job I will help to create great Android devices with our team in Essen and our partners in China.

This fulltime job will of course affect all my other projects. In short I would say:

Much less (almost zero) Joomla!, a bit more Ruby on Rails and much more Android.

Here is more info about my projects:

Joomla! / My Joomla! extensions

In 2013 I already discontinued the extension "Marketplace" and the module "Vernissage". Due to the lack of time in 2014 I will pause the development for my forum extension "Discussions". I do not say it's dead (yet) but don't expect any further development in the foreseeable future.

In my sparetime I'm working on a Content Management System (CMS) which will replace my Joomla! installation on as soon as all needed features are implemented. Chimoora is developed using Ruby on Rails 4 and Bootstrap 3.

My website will be relaunched as soon as Chimoora is ready for production use. The currently running Joomla! 2.5 will then be replaced.

My online community about italian motorcycles is still running Joomla! 1.5 and will relaunch on Chimoora after it has been tested extensively on

The Ruby on Rails based social network for my hometown Fulda has been launched in 2013. New features will be added in 2014.

Apps for Mobile Devices

Codingfish for Android will be replaced with a new version when the new CMS goes online.
Work on my Joomla! API extension and the Chimoora app (Android and iOS) for Joomla! will be stopped.

Fuldany for Android and Fuldany for iOS have high priority because they are needed to support my local social network (see above).

Nothing planned yet and I'm not sure if I will be able to attend many events in 2014. I will have to travel in my new job so it's difficult to plan anything now. Anyway, Android related events will have high priority.

I will spend a bit more time increasing my photography skills. Here are some of my photos (more to come): Codingfish on 500px

Thank you. May you all have a great year 2014 :-)
