18.04.2009 15:28Images aren't deleted when I delete an add.Hello, I installed Marketplace 1.4.6 on Joomla 1.5.9. I had some difficulty in the beginning but I learnt how to solve them thanks to people like you. My last problem is that : After I had deleted my adds, I noticed that the images are still in the following folder : components/com_marketplace/images/entries And, I can't delete anything under com_marketplace by using cpanel. When I try to delete the files manually, I get this error in cpanel : FileOp failure on public_html/components/com_marketplace/images/entries/4a.jpg: Permission denied I can't change permissions, move, rename, delete, put anything under com_marketplace folder in cpanel. I know and realize that Marketplace is a Joomla component and it can only be modified in Joomla control panel. But when I can't delete the add images in control panel, I tried to delete them in cpanel but failed. What should I do to solve this problem? Thank you very much for your interest. Osman |

24.04.2009 11:13Re: Images aren't deleted when I delete an add.I tried something and solved the problem partly. But I still need help. I deleted the images of an add, by marking the delete checkbox, before I deleted the add itself. Thus, the images were deleted successfully. But, if I delete the add directly, the images aren't deleted. Is this normal? Should the images be deleted before the add? Regards, Osman |

Which OS do you use? In almost all of these cases this is a permission problem. Regards Achim -- Achim Fischer Codingfish Limited www.codingfish.com |

25.04.2009 16:33Re: Images aren't deleted when I delete an add.We have Linux hosting. I think if OS doesn't give permissions, it is not possible to delete them even I mark them. I can upload the images of the adds successfully but I get a warning about the permissions. I don't know it is important. I can send it later. As I said before, Marketplace is a Joomla component and it is not right to try to change or delete its files in cpanel. But I want to hear from you. Although Marketplace is a Joomla component, can you say that a user should be able to change permissions, delete files of Marketplace in cpanel? Is there anything I can do or check about my configuration? Regards, Osman |

27.04.2009 10:53Re: Images aren't deleted when I delete an add.An interesting thing happened. I published an ad using the front page user account. Then I tried to delete the ad again using the same user form. The images were deleted when I deleted the ad :) I noticed that the problem occurs when I try to delete the ad in Joomla Control Panel-Marketplace-Ads section. I mean, in control panel, I can’t delete the images unless I mark them. Anyway, I don’t see this a problem any more. There will be no problem if I use the front page user account. I mentioned a warning when I try to publish an add. You can see it below. Warning: chmod() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/pxdy2615/public_html/components/com_marketplace/write_ad.php on line 304 Regards Osman |
