27.01.2011 12:14How to write a post if you have a question or a problemHello all,due to very many different server setups out there, some people may run into notices, warnings, errors or the extension refuses to run at all. There are a million reasons why that may happen e.g. maybe the installed PHP version ist too old or another extension is interfering or there is a configuration issue... Anyway if you have a question or a problem and you would like that somebody helps you, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you give as much information about your setup as possible. At least: 1) Operation system (e.g. SuSE Linux) 2) PHP Version (e.g. PHP 5.2.4) 3) MySQL Version (e.g. MySQL 5.1) 4) Joomla! version (e.g. Joomla! 1.5.22) 5) Extension version (e.g. Discussions 1.2) Furthermore write if you have other extensions running especially on the same page (modules). I'm testing all my extensions on a "normal" Joomla! setup. I do not use and test them with Jomsocial, Community Builder, Virtuemart or whatever. Again, give as much information as possible. This saves time for the person asking and the person replying to the post. To say that very clear now: I will completely ignore posts like "I'm getting the error XYZ, please can you help me?"
