Discussions is pretty young I plan to implement it but there are a few things to be aware of. Imagine you have a very busy forum and 500 users want email notifications. Then if someone writes a post your system will send out a burst of 500 emails. Some providers could think you are a spammer Any ideas about this? I love your forum but for me too, the notification email is important. Could it not be possible when somebody replies to a comment or start a new thread that this person can mark a box saying "Notify me by email when replied to this message"? Many thanks, Jef

For example a support forum for a J! extension should: Notify moderator when a new thread is started. Notify everyone who has posted in a thread when a reply is made. Regards Achim Hi Achim, I have installed Discussions1.5 and the "quotation" is not giving the quoted person notifications. Any ideas? :) Regards Thet

It would never send you 500 emails at one time, unless you have 500 different people on one thread. It would be vital for me to have this feature as its kind of basic. If I could set it up with Amazons Simple Message service it would be even better. It costs virtually nothing and have some "spam" features too :)

Hi, I added this feature to my discussion instalation. Everybody that is engaged in the thread and moderator are getting notification email. I also added option in Profile section, to turn on/off this feature. If there is enought interest, I can prepare "hack" instructions...
